Here at Cottonwood Music Emporium, we are constantly hunting for gear that doesn't just make sound, but inspires a feeling. The new Benson Amps Redlands is exactly that. It’s a unique departure for Chris Benson, aimed directly at the "extended American palette" of tones.

By blending inspiration from legends like Dumble and Peavey with the world-class touch sensitivity Benson is known for, the Redlands offers a preamp that stays crystalline and beautiful, but gets "big and juicy" the moment you dig in.

The Innovation: A Tone Stack Unlike Any Other

While the Volume and Reverb controls are classic Benson, the Bass and Treble controls are where the magic happens. This isn't your standard EQ; it’s a surgical tool for your tone.

  • The Bass Control: Instead of just adding "thump," this moves a massive mid-scoop across the spectrum (100Hz to 1K). It allows you to literally choose which frequencies to feature and which to cut.
  • The Treble Control: Features a steep 12db/octave roll-off (twice as steep as most amps). It’s incredibly musical and allows for precise high-end shaping without the harshness.

Benson also added a touch of negative feedback to the circuit. This slows the response envelope just enough to give the amp a "fatter" feel under your fingers.
