Vintage 1958 Gretsch Anniversary Guitar Patent Pending Pickup

Here is a 1958 Gretsch Anniversary guitar. I got this from the second owner whose dad bought it for him in 1962 while he was in high school. He said he rarely ever played the guitar because he really wanted a Les Paul. The tailpiece was changed before he received the guitar from his dad. Everything else is completely original. The guitar is very clean and has a nice flamed top. The binding on the back of the guitar is in perfect condition, the binding on the top shows binding rot. It’s all still connected. The original patent applied for pickup sounds as great as you would expect. The original pickup ring has deteriorated and has been pieced back together with tape and a piece of plastic on the bottom of it. A replacement pickup ring is recommended. Case is super clean also with the original case key. Overall it is a really clean 1958 Gretsch Anniversary. The only year that it had 22 frets. The neck does need to be reset for this guitar to get back to optimum playability. Our repair bench is backed up for months so we are offering this as-is for someone who can do the work themselves. Neck resets on archtops is a lot easier than guitars with a fixed bridge. This really is a beautiful guitar that needs a good home.
