Cornerstone Music Gear Gladio SC Preamp

The Cornerstone Music Gear Gladio SC (single channel) is designed to offer the same sound as the "big brother" Gladio, but in a smaller, more compact form.

While the Gladio double channel was inspired by artists like Robben Ford and Sonny Landreth, the Gladio SC takes a step closer to the Stevie Ray Vaughan sound — that legendary tone achieved through a Dumble amplifier.

The Gladio SC is based on the Gladio 1st channel, with the exact same sound and controls, plus one crucial addition: the Clean knob. This single control makes a profound difference. The clean signal is taken directly at the input of the pedal and mixed back with the overdriven signal at the output — the Clean knob manages the volume of that clean layer, giving you a clean foundation sitting on top of the overdrive. The result is that unmistakable Texas-blues sound.

What the Clean Knob Does

Sweeping the Clean knob from zero to even 40% rotation affects three parameters simultaneously:

• Bottom End: The sound becomes noticeably fatter and fuller.
• Compression: The non-compressed clean signal enters the mix, with the change in compression especially pronounced on pick attack.
• Saturation: As the clean signal blends in, the final output becomes hotter and better able to push the front end of your amp.
