The Echo-X is the world's first gated delay pedal — a digital delay where the repeats are controlled by the envelope of your guitar signal itself. Play a note and the echo follows. Stop playing and the repeats stop too, giving the effect of a tightly-edited guitar sample rather than a trail of decaying echoes washing over your next phrase.
It's a development of Rainger FX's original Echo-X concept, refined and expanded into a pedal that fundamentally changes how delay feels to play. The echo becomes part of your sound rather than something layered on top of it — rhythmically locked, dynamically responsive, and completely unlike any standard delay pedal.
How the Gate Works
The envelope of your guitar signal controls the repeat gate in real time. Play hard and the repeats open fully. Play softly and they respond accordingly. Stop playing entirely and the repeats cut — cleanly, immediately, without the usual wash. The result is a delay that breathes with your performance rather than running on its own clock.
This makes the Echo-X particularly powerful for players who want rhythmic precision without a tap tempo, or who want their delay to feel like an extension of their playing rather than a separate effect. It's equally at home in ambient, post-rock, math rock, and experimental contexts.
