Diamond Pedals Vibrato - Midnight Sparkle

100% Analog Audio Path. Compact Footprint.

The Diamond Vibrato started back in late 2006 with a simple yet ambitious idea: craft an analog, true-pitch vibrato pedal built around the revered MN3007 Bucket Brigade Device. It promptly became one of the world's most coveted and sought-after vibrato pedals.

Now, nearly two decades later, the Diamond Vibrato is not only back—it’s better than ever. This next-generation pedal incorporates decades of end-user feedback to deliver maximum efficiency, modern pedalboard-friendly features, and a meticulous redesign, all while preserving the signature Diamond quality and tone that made the original legendary.

Analog BBD Delay Line

At the heart of this pedal lies the highly revered MN3007 Bucket Brigade Delay (BBD) chip. Renowned for its ability to create the rich, organic, and warbling vibrato and chorus tones that defined the 70s and 80s, the MN3007 infuses your guitar signal with natural, liquid-like pitch modulation. Expect a rounded, vintage texture and undeniable mojo completely missing from modern digital counterparts.

Compandor Magic

Our custom Compandor circuit adds warmth and complexity by expertly controlling your dynamics. Acting as both a compressor and expander, it gives the Vibrato its signature feel while heavily reducing the noise inherently found in BBD technology. Borrowed from our Memory Lane Jr., this updated, pre-trimmed compandor design provides increased clarity and less distortion without ever needing recalibration.

Expanded Voltage Versatility

While the original Vibrato could only be powered by an 18VDC reverse polarity supply, the new Vibrato offers a much more versatile 9-18VDC operating range. Because the internal clock frequency shifts based on voltage, you can actively shape your tone via your power supply:

  • 18VDC: Delivers the classic, pristine, and lush Diamond Vibrato tones with maximum headroom.
  • 9VDC: Adds a bit more color and intense warble—recreating the "High Mode" found in the original big-box unit.

Half the Size, All of the Sound

Don’t let the compact size fool you. We’ve managed to stuff the entire analog audio path, Compandor, and BBD delay circuits into a pedalboard-friendly enclosure by using dual stacked PCBs. This smart design optimizes space while enhancing the isolation of the audio path from power switching. Complete with top-mounted jacks, soft-touch Relay True Bypass switching, and over-voltage protection, this pedal is virtually bulletproof.
