Overview Up for sale is a stunning excellent condition 2018 Fender Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster Thinline (Serial #EJ20978). Produced in the very first year of the Thinline model's release, this instrument represents the culmination of Eric Johnson’s decades-long quest for the ultimate tone. By marrying a semi-hollow alder body with traditional Stratocaster hardware, Fender has created a guitar that offers the "air" and warmth of a hollow body with the punch and articulation of a solid body.

The guitar plays great and works perfectly.

The "EJ" Difference This is not a standard American Stratocaster. Every millimeter of this instrument was scrutinized by Eric Johnson. From the custom-contoured armrest to the lack of a string tree on the headstock, the specs are designed for maximum resonance and tuning stability.

Key Features & Specs:

Semi-Hollow Construction: The custom-chambered Alder body features a distinctive F-hole on the top bout. This reduces the weight significantly (typically under 7 lbs) and adds a "woody" complexity to the midrange that standard Strats cannot achieve.

The "Soft V" Neck: Perhaps the most celebrated feature of the EJ line. It features a one-piece quartersawn maple neck with a 1957 "Soft V" profile. It fills the hand perfectly without feeling bulky.

12-Inch Radius: Unlike vintage 7.25" or modern 9.5" fretboards, the flat 12" radius allows for low action and effortless, distinct bends without "fretting out."

Nitrocellulose Lacquer: Finished in a thin skin of nitro on both the body and neck. This allows the wood to vibrate freely and will age beautifully over time, developing checking and wear patterns unique to the player.

Custom EJ Pickups: Three specially voiced Eric Johnson Single-Coil pickups with countersunk mounting screws. They are bright, clear, and glassy, with the bridge pickup wired to its own tone control (a rare feature on Strats) to tame high-end bite.

Vintage Hardware: Staggered vintage-style tuners eliminate the need for a string tree, improving tuning stability and sustain. The tremolo block is painted silver, a detail specific to '57 era instruments.
