Behind every great pedal is a great story. The ThorpyFX KUDU was born from a modified classic gifted to Thorpy by legendary pedal designer Dan Coggins (of Lovetone fame) on Christmas 2024. Inspired by that circuit, the KUDU was meticulously developed from the ground up with one primary goal: to be the ultimate overdrive for stacking with other pedals and amplifiers.

Why "KUDU"? Just like the Greater Kudu species stands out in the wild, this pedal is designed to make everything in your signal chain sound greater.

Optimized for Stacking

The KUDU isn't fussy about where you place it. Whether you are pushing a British tube amp into saturation or cascading it into another fuzz or distortion pedal, the KUDU melds its harmonics perfectly with your existing gear to yield inspiring, larger-than-life tones.

Intuitive Tone Shaping Controls

Dial in your perfect drive with four highly interactive controls:

• LEVEL: Features massive volume on tap, allowing you to heavily cut or aggressively boost your signal to push the front end of your amp.
• BITE: Your key to cutting through the mix. Lower settings offer a smooth, warm drive, while higher settings add sizzle, sparkle, and top-end cut.
• DRIVE: Adjusts the overall gain. This control is highly interactive with the BITE knob, allowing you to tailor the exact frequencies pushing into your other drive stages.
• CLIP: A three-way toggle switch selecting between Soft, Hard, and Extra Soft clipping. This drastically changes the character and feel of the overdrive, giving you three distinct flavors of gain.

Built for tonal supremacy, consistency, and low-noise operation, the KUDU is constructed with meticulous attention to detail. Inside the rugged enclosure, you'll find top-tier components including 1% metalfilm resistors, premium WIMA and Panasonic capacitors, and a robust through-hole plated PCB. This pedal is built to survive the rigors of the road and deliver years of tonal bliss.
