Rainger FX Snare Trap Rhythm Device

2 items left

The Snare Trap is a rhythm device unlike anything else on a pedalboard — or a desktop. An analog/digital hybrid beatbox from Rainger FX, it generates snare, bass drum, and hi-hat sounds that you can play through like an instrument, not just program like a machine. Use it by hand on a desk or by foot on the floor. Either way, it responds.

Getting a beat going is immediate: press the red PAD button, tap your tempo into the large pad, and the Snare Trap locks in. The first bass drum lands on the '1', the snare on the '2' and '4'. A second, moveable bass drum (BD2) can be shifted anywhere from the '3' to just before the next '1' using a single knob. Add snare delay for dub-style rhythms, switch the hi-hat from 8ths to offbeat 4ths, and you have a groove in seconds.

Signal Processing

Run your guitar, synth, or keyboard through the 1/4" audio input and the Snare Trap side-chains it against the beat — your instrument ducks on every hit for a pumping, rhythmically locked feel. A low-pass filter with LFO modulation acts over the beats while leaving your instrument signal unaffected. The whole mix — beats and instrument — outputs to a single mono jack.

Modular & CV Integration

Eurorack and modular users get independent CV trigger inputs for all three percussive sounds, plus audio out and sync jacks. The large pad doubles as a white noise fill trigger when not in tap-tempo mode — a responsive, expressive surface for live performance.
