The Drone Rainger is the most atmospheric, cinematic pedal Rainger FX makes — and that's saying something. A dub-flavoured digital delay built on the Echo-X platform, it also generates deep, tuneable analog drones that run through the same delay circuit. Whether you play shoegaze, doom, psychedelic rock, or ambient music, it's an instant foundation for powerful, hypnotic sound.
Two independent analog tone generators sit inside the enclosure — one with a 12-way selector switch, one free-moving — so you can dial in beating interference tones, rich unison drones, or two separate notes to toggle between on the fly. The guitar signal and drone signal are independently mixed, with a fully dry guitar option if you want to use the Drone Rainger purely as a sound source.
Footswitch Effects
Two real-time footswitch effects let you shape the drone mid-performance: a tone-down pitch sag for an ominous, collapsing feel, and a pitch-up ramp that raises one oscillator sharply — making 2-note drone chords instantly accessible. A fine-tune knob keeps you locked in even when playing along to music that isn't strictly pitched.
The Enclosure
Housed in Rainger FX's signature 7-sided desk-style enclosure, the front panel window reveals a 1:1780 scale aerial view of a dystopian industrial cityscape — streets, car parks, chemical silos and all. It's a pedal that looks as singular as it sounds.
